The photos below show the mistakes made by the contractor:

Helytelen használat 1

A The dark bands in the photo above are caused by incorrect application: instead of slow, bottom‑to‑top saturating brush strokes, the product was applied with fast, side-to-side “painting-like” strokes. Where you see dark bands, the surface received little or no product.

E Here you can also see that several bricks were missed due to inattention. On the darker bricks you may notice lighter run marks: product flowed down from the treated bricks above and left visible streaks.

In addition, during grout wash‑off the wash water was not changed frequently enough, so heavily contaminated water smeared grout residue back onto the surface as a thin haze. As a result, the whole surface looked dull and dirty.

Because of these mistakes the work had to be extended by several hours or even days to restore the surface – which meant extra cost. (In this case, the contractor paid the price for sloppy work, not the client.)

Restoration – what should you clean with?

At the end, the surface had to be cleaned. For this we found our DRY-CLEANINGCEMENT DIRT REMOVER to be the most suitable option. (They also tried another similarly named product, but it did not work properly.)

After drying, the final long‑term surface protection was created with the AQUA-STOP W product family – UNIVERSAL – resulting in a perfect protection that can last for decades (depending on the substrate and exposure).

In short: what to watch for
  • Slow, bottom‑to‑top saturating brush strokes (do not apply like paint).
  • Do not skip anything – missed sections will be visible.
  • Change wash water often, otherwise the surface can become hazy and smeared.
If the damage is already done: restore the surface with Cement Dirt Remover, then create durable surface protection.
