The photos below show the mistakes made by the contractor:
A The dark bands in the photo above are caused by incorrect application: instead of slow, bottom‑to‑top saturating brush strokes, the product was applied with fast, side-to-side “painting-like” strokes. Where you see dark bands, the surface received little or no product.
E Here you can also see that several bricks were missed due to inattention. On the darker bricks you may notice lighter run marks: product flowed down from the treated bricks above and left visible streaks.
In addition, during grout wash‑off the wash water was not changed frequently enough, so heavily contaminated water smeared grout residue back onto the surface as a thin haze. As a result, the whole surface looked dull and dirty.
At the end, the surface had to be cleaned. For this we found our
CEMENT DIRT REMOVER to be the most suitable option. (They also tried another similarly named product, but it did not work properly.)
After drying, the final long‑term surface protection was created with the
product family – UNIVERSAL – resulting in a perfect protection that can last for decades (depending on the substrate and exposure).
