WALL ANTI-GRAFFITI PRIMER

WALL ANTI-GRAFFITI PRIMER is an organic solvent solution of active siloxanes and silanes. The primer should be applied undiluted to the surface to be primed.

During the evaporation of the solvent, humidity and ambient temperature create a rigid primer film that adheres firmly to the substrate. WALL ANTI-GRAFFITI should be applied to the prepared, primed substrate, and the subsequent chemical reaction results in a tight bond between WALL ANTI-GRAFFITI and the substrate.

Storage:

WALL ANTI-GRAFFITI PRIMER can be stored in its original, closed container or even diluted form, between 0-30 oC, away from sunlight, for at least 24 months from the date indicated on the label.
Storage beyond the date indicated on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. However, in this case, the properties necessary for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.

Application:

Surface preparation:

The surfaces to be primed must be dry and free from grease, oil, wax, dust, rust and other contaminants. The surface must be cleaned, e.g. with a non-polar solvent such as mineral spirits (boiling point between 80°C and 140°C) and then with a polar solvent such as acetone.

Very smooth surfaces can be roughened by sanding. In the case of metals, the substrate must be allowed a few hours to regenerate the oxygen layer before applying the primer. Loose particles must be removed.

Application:

The primer can be applied by spraying, dipping or dipping or by brush. The primer must be applied undiluted.

The primer layer must be applied as thinly as possible and free of air bubbles. In general, the best results are achieved with a primer layer thickness of between 1 and 10 μm, corresponding to a coating weight of between 5 and 50 g/m².

The solvent should be allowed to evaporate at room temperature. A certain atmospheric humidity is required to form a consistent primer film that adheres firmly to the substrate.

Higher or lower humidity will reduce or extend the required reaction time. As a guideline, a flash-off or drying time of 1-2 hours at room temperature and 40% relative humidity should be used to allow for the formation of a uniform primer layer.

In some cases, adhesion can be improved by heating the primed substrate at 100-150 °C for up to one hour after the solvent has evaporated at room temperature. Tests should be carried out if special conditions are required.

WALL ANTI-GRAFFITI should be applied to the primed surface as soon as possible after the drying or heating process.

We recommend that this be done no later than approximately 5 hours after priming the substrate. Otherwise, the adhesion strength may be reduced. Before applying WALL ANTI-GRAFFITI, the primed surface must be kept free of dirt.
