MONUMENT TP EXTRA is used for general purpose impregnation of mineral and strongly alkaline surfaces. After application, it reacts with the humidity of the air or the water in the pores of the surface, releasing alcohol.

    • Good penetrating ability
    • Highly resistant to alkalis
    • Water-repellent effect develops quickly after application
    • Does not stick during drying
    • Effective also on wet surfaces

The active ingredient of MONUMENT TP EXTRA significantly reduces the building material's ability to absorb water through capillary action, but does not clog pores or capillaries. Therefore, the change in the breathing of the building material is slight or barely noticeable and measurable.

APPLICATION:

MONUMENT TP EXTRA is an excellent water-repellent and impregnating agent. It is recommended for many types of mineral surfaces, even highly alkaline ones, such as: concrete, mineral-based plasters, cement, sand-lime bricks, bricks, aerated concrete, mineral-based natural stone and artificial stone.
Not suitable for making gypsum water-repellent (use our MONUMENT SP 25-00 product for gypsum and gypsum stucco)!
MONUMENT TP EXTRA is also used as a primer for outdoor paints.
Not suitable for solvent-sensitive materials (nikecell, polystyrene, bitumen, etc.)!

STORAGE:

MONUMENT TP EXTRA can be stored in its original, closed container at 0-30 oC for at least 24 months from the date indicated on the label. If the product's shelf life has expired, the material may still be good, which must be confirmed by a preliminary test.
After opening, the material must be stored hermetically sealed, because the material reacts with the humidity of the air.

USE:

Surface preparation:

The surface must be in perfect condition. Construction defects, defects such as cracks, cracked joints, faulty connections, rising and hygroscopic moisture must be eliminated in advance. It must be ensured that water and the harmful salts dissolved in it cannot get behind the hydrophobic layer, as this can cause frost damage, peeling, and nitrate precipitation.

Before applying MONUMENT TP EXTRA, the surface must be cleaned of any dirt layer and harmful substance deposits, salt efflorescence, algae and moss.

For cleaning, choose the most suitable product from our DRY-CLEANING® cleaning product family.

Execution:

MONUMENT TP EXTRA is recommended to be applied to the surface to be treated by pouring or by spraying with large droplets (the material should flow on the surface) in at least two layers. The next layer must always be applied before the first layer dries (“wet-on-wet” method)! The appropriate amount depends on the absorbency of the surface.

DO NOT use a teddy roller, as it cannot ensure uniform application and may cause the surface to become stained!

As much material as it can be absorbed per unit of surface must be applied, so the capillary system of the surface must be saturated in two layers. Any material that is not absorbed must be wiped off!

The surface to be treated must be dry to the touch!

Always carry out a test treatment (on 1-2 m2) on the surface to be treated. This way, we can calculate and check, for example, the desired amount of material or the effectiveness of the agent.

Important: Before application, carefully cover windows and non-absorbent surfaces, as the product sets so quickly that it is very difficult or impossible to remove. If it splashes on glass, wash it off immediately with soapy water or, if necessary, with a solvent. It should not be used on existing polystyrene external/internal thermal insulation and solvent-sensitive building parts such as bitumen, bitumen roof insulation, etc., as it may dissolve them!

Attention: The surface to be treated must not be overheated!
Application temperature: 10-30 oC.
Below 10 oC the chemical reaction slows down, so the development of the protective effect may take 1-2 weeks!

The material requirement depends on the absorbency of the surface, for which the following table contains guidelines, which are for information only:
