MONUMENT SP 25-00
Water-based impregnation agent for monuments
FEATURES:
An aqueous solution of potassium methyl silicone, which is excellent for making natural stones (NOT granite!), brickwork and gypsum stucco used indoors and outdoors water-repellent.
MONUMENT SP 25-00 impregnation agent reacts with the carbon dioxide content of the air to form a type of polymethyl silicone acid, and as a result, the treated surface becomes water-repellent. Like all silicone types, MONUMENT SP 25-00 impregnation agent can form white spots on colored surfaces if applied unevenly.
The active ingredient of MONUMENT SP 25-00 significantly reduces the capillary water absorption capacity of the building material, but does not clog the pores or capillaries. Therefore, the change in the breathing of the building material is slight or barely noticeable, measurable.

It makes the following natural stones and surfaces, among others, water-repellent:
STORAGE:
MONUMENT SP 25-00 impregnation agent can be stored in iron, plastic or glass containers. Zinc-coated aluminum or galvanized containers are not suitable for storage. In a closed container, MONUMENT SP 25-00 impregnation agent can be stored for two years (24 months) from the date indicated on the label. The product must always be stored above 0 oC.
If the substance crystallizes due to too low a temperature, it will dissolve again when heated. Then the product must be stirred well. If the product’s shelf life has expired, the substance may still be good, which must be confirmed by a preliminary test.
USE:
Surface preparation:
Before applying the impregnation agent, the surface to be treated must be cleaned of dirt and harmful substance deposits, salt bloom, and greenish discoloration caused by algae and moss.
Cleaning opens the openings of the capillaries and pores, thus enabling the perfect absorption of the impregnation agent, and prevents the impregnated dirty, contaminated surface from being difficult or impossible to clean.
After cleaning, the surface must be washed with plenty of water to remove any chemical residues!
For cleaning, choose the most suitable product from our dry-cleaning® cleaning agent family.
Execution:
The product should be used undiluted.
It is recommended to apply MONUMENT SP 25-00 to the surface to be treated by pouring or by large-drop spraying (the material should flow onto the surface) in at least two layers. It can be applied with a brush, a disk brush or by sprinkling (knapsack sprayer).
The next layer must always be applied before the first layer dries (“wet-on-wet” method)! The appropriate amount depends on the absorbency of the surface.
DO NOT use a teddy roller, as it cannot ensure uniform application and may cause spots on the surface!
Caution: If the 1st layer dries, the 2nd layer cannot be applied!!!
The surface to be treated must be visibly dry.
It is recommended to treat the finished, grouted surface, so the material also protects the grouting!
Always perform a test treatment on the surface to be treated (1-2 m2). This way, you can calculate and check, for example, the desired amount of material or the effectiveness of the agent.
Attention: The surface to be treated must not be overheated!
Application temperature: 10-30 0C. Drying is slowed down below 10 0C!
