MONUMENT FT 38–10 is designed for general impregnation of mineral and highly alkaline (alkaline/alkalic) surfaces. After application it reacts with moisture in the air, or with water in the substrate pores, releasing alcohol.
The active ingredient of MONUMENT FT 38–10 significantly reduces capillary water absorption and improves resistance to weathering. Its vapour permeability remains high, so no measurable change occurs in the substrate’s “breathing”.
Recommended for many mineral substrates, and particularly suitable for mineral natural stones (for example calcareous stones, granite, sandstone, etc.).
Do not use on or near solvent-sensitive materials (expanded polystyrene, hard polyvinyl chloride, plastics, etc.).
Surface preparation:
The surface must be in sound condition. Remove any construction defects such as cracks, open joints and damaged areas. Ensure that water and dissolved harmful substances can drain away properly.
For best results the substrate should be dry and absorbent. Remove dust, dirt, algae, moss, grease, oils, existing coatings and any substances that hinder penetration.
Application:
Apply generously to the clean surface using a brush, roller or low-pressure sprayer, working from bottom to top. Keep the surface evenly wet (wet-on-wet) until it can no longer absorb material.
On very absorbent substrates apply a second coat within a short interval (wet-on-wet). Remove any excess from non-absorbent adjacent surfaces (glass, metal, painted elements) immediately.
Drying time:
Protect the treated surface from rain for at least 4–6 hours. Full performance develops after the reaction has completed (typically within 24–48 hours, depending on temperature and humidity).
