MONUMENT BP 29-10
Water-based silane/siloxane impregnating agent
FEATURES:
Silane/siloxane based, water-dilutable, solvent-free emulsion.
MONUMENT BP 29-10 emulsion contains a stabilized silane/siloxane mixture that is capable of hydrolysis. Hydrolysis occurs after application to the surface and penetration into the surface, which breaks down the emulsion. When the emulsion breaks down, alcohol is released and the emulsion is converted into a water-repellent silicone resin.
The water-repellent effect does not deteriorate significantly even if rain occurs shortly after application.
MONUMENT BP 29-10 significantly reduces the capillary water absorption of the building material, but does not block pores or capillaries. Therefore, there is little or no change in the breathing of the building material.
Prevents salt efflorescence and the absorption of acid rain. It does not change the color of the treated surface.
APPLICATION:
MONUMENT BP 29-10 is an excellent water repellent for a wide range of absorbent mineral materials, such as brick, limestone, natural sandstone and mineral plasters (also painted). It is not so suitable for less absorbent, dense natural stone, especially limestone, marble, reinforced concrete, bridges and roads.
Due to its aqueous consistency and storage stability, MONUMENT BP 29-10 is ideal for impregnating building materials made of clay, aerated concrete, lime sand, fiber cement, mineral fibers and lightweight aggregates.
It is also suitable as a water repellent primer for emulsion paints and plasters, silicone resin emulsion paints and silicone resin plasters, and for concrete coatings.
STORAGE:
MONUMENT BP 29-10 can be stored in its original, closed container at 0-30 oC for at least 24 months from the date indicated on the label. However, experience has shown that it can be stored for up to 3 years without deterioration in quality.
During storage, surface creaming may occur, but this is not an irreversible process, i.e. after brief shaking or mixing, a homogeneous substance with unchanged properties is obtained again.
MONUMENT BP 29-10 contains a small amount of preservative against microorganisms and fungi.
Usage:
Surface preparation:
Before applying the impregnation agent, the surface to be treated must be cleaned of dirt and harmful substance deposits, salt bloom, and greenish discoloration caused by algae and moss.
By cleaning, we open the openings of the capillaries and pores, thus enabling the perfect absorption of the impregnation agent, and we can avoid that the impregnated dirty, contaminated surface cannot be cleaned, or can only be cleaned with great difficulty.
After cleaning, the surface must be washed with plenty of water to remove any chemical residues!
Execution:
MONUMENT BP 29-10 must be applied to the surface to be treated in two layers by pouring or by large-drop spraying (the material must flow onto the surface). The second layer must always be applied before the first layer has dried (“wet-on-wet” method)!
As much material as it can absorb per unit area must be applied, thus saturating the capillary system of the surface in two layers. The surface to be treated must be dry to the eye!
The material requirement depends on the absorbency of the surface:
Always perform a test treatment on the surface to be treated (1-2 m2-en)! This way we can calculate and check, for example, the desired amount of material or the effectiveness of the agent.
Due to the special composition of MONUMENT BP 29-10, the surface can be re-treated at any time.
Attention: The surface to be treatod must not be overheated!
Application temperature: 10-30 oC.
Below 10 oC the chemical reaction slows down, so the development of the protective effect may take 1-2 weeks!
