MONUMENT AG
Washable, breathable anti-graffiti coating
FEATURES:
The system forms a self-priming, hydrophobic and washable topcoat that adheres well when applied.
MONUMENT AG is a one-component product that cures at room temperature under the influence of ambient moisture.
The polysiloxanes in the coating guarantee its excellent performance against weather conditions such as rain, sun and extreme temperature effects.
MONUMENT AG makes it easy to clean wall surfaces from graffiti and poster residue.
The dual system consists of silicone and a washable layer. The triple property of this dual system is that it is washable, water-repellent and breathable.
When washing, the contaminated washing water is drained off by the system. Washing should be done with a cold water, high-pressure washer (approx. 100 bar), therefore the surface does NOT need to be re-treated against graffiti after washing.
MONUMENT AG should only be used on plastic surfaces after thorough testing.
Always perform a test application!
The material is characterized by high UV resistance, excellent sun protection, heat resistance, breathability and durability.

STORAGE:
MONUMENT AG can be stored in its original, closed container, or even diluted, at a temperature between 0-30 oC, away from sunlight, for at least 24 months from the date indicated on the label.
Storage beyond the date indicated on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case, however, the properties necessary for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
Open time of the container (bottle, can): approx. 20 minutes at 25 oC.
The material in the opened bottle or can must be used, it cannot be stored any longer!
Any remaining material will further crosslink and thicken when exposed to air, as a result of which a hardened layer may form on the surface and the viscosity and density of the material may increase.
USE:
Surface preparation:
The surface must be in perfect condition. Construction defects, defects such as cracks, cracked joints, faulty connections, rising and hygroscopic moisture must be eliminated in advance. It must be ensured that water and the harmful salts dissolved in it cannot get behind the hydrophobic layer, as this can cause frost damage, peeling, and nitrate precipitation.
Before applying MONUMENT AG, the surface must be cleaned of any dirt layer and harmful substance deposits, salt efflorescence, algae and moss.

Execution:
MONUMENT AG is a solvent-based preventive preservative. MONUMENT AG can be applied using industrial spraying methods such as airless spraying and conventional roller application with appropriate protective equipment.

MONUMENT AG can only be applied using airless spray equipment (e.g. screw pump), but it can also be applied with a brush or teddy roller for smaller surfaces.
Due to its consistency, it can be applied in a single coat.
After use, tools and equipment must be rinsed immediately with solvents (e.g. white spirit) to prevent the material from crosslinking and the formation of a hard, sticky film that can cause blockages.
The surface to be treated must appear dry to the eye.
MONUMENT AG does not require prior priming on most common surfaces.
Primer is required when applying to painted surfaces, metal or plastic!
Only MONUMENT AGF is suitable for priming!
When applied in a single layer, MONUMENT AG cures quickly on a dry surface due to the humidity of the air. The cure occurs first on the surface and over time also in the surface, due to the ambient moisture available in the capillaries.
Total drying time: 24 hours.
The material consumption depends on the absorbency of the surface: 0.25-0.4 l/m2.
Always carry out a test treatment on the surface to be treated! This way, we can calculate and check, for example, the desired amount of material or the effectiveness of the agent.
The surface treated with MONUMENT AG will be completely transparent and shiny. If you add a matting agent, it will be less visible on the surface.
Mixing ratios:
The material mixed with the matting agent must be used immediately, it cannot be stored!
MONUMENT AG can also be colored, so existing graffiti does not need to be removed, but can be covered with colored MONUMENT AG.
For example:
- Using 4% CAPAROL Titandioxid Crimea 271, we can give the surface to be treated a white color.
- Using 4% CAPAROL PPZU Blau 04, we can give the surface to be treated a blue color.
- Using 4% CAPAROL PPZU Rot 10, we can give the surface to be treated a red color
MONUMENT AG is mixed with the pigment paste, e.g. Caparol, under anhydrous conditions (4% by weight, > 400 rpm, 15 minutes, then vacuum. Finally, fill the air space of the container with N2 gas until use.)
The color saturation on the surface to be treated can be controlled by the amount of material applied (150 g/m2 - 450 g/m2).
Attention: The surface to be treated must not be overheated! Treatment temperature: 5-30 oC. If a skin has formed during storage, it must be discarded from the top.
Pot life: approx. 20 minutes at 25 oC.
Graffiti removal:
The contaminated surface should be cleaned with a cold water, high-pressure washer (e.g. 100 bar).
After cleaning, the protective layer does NOT need to be reapplied!
The system can withstand up to 16 washing cycles.
